Passes State Senate Bill moves on to Assembly |

This bill restores protection to perhaps 4 million acres of Wisconsin wetlands that were left without legal protections as the result of a U.S. Supreme Court decision in early January. Now the bill moves on to the Assembly.
In addition to contacting your own Assembly representative and urging them to act on SB 37, you may want to contact Rep. Neal Kedzie. Rep. Kedzie chairs the key committee in the Assembly that will be handling the legislation.
He is already receiving calls from developers and their friends urging him to go slow on the wetlands protection bill so that they can have a free building season.
In the meantime, you may want to thank those Senators who voted with for wetland protection, especially Sen. Jim Baumgart (D-Sheboygan) who led the fight on the Senate floor. Those senators who voted for the bill are:
