New Online Great Lakes Environmental Directory

2/12/02

A new online resource is available for groups and individuals interested in protecting natural resources in the Great Lakes basin.  The directory contains a wealth of information, including an online library of environmental articles and contact information for over 1000 organizations active in the Great Lakes region.

You can also download free software that can improve you and your group's effectiveness.  Another resource includes an online directory and web site information for more than 200 foundations that may be interested in funding your group's activities (the listings range from environmentally friendly foundations - such as the Mott Foundation - to others that may be more suspect, i.e. the Monsanto Fund).

The Great Lakes Environmental Directory is a project of the Environmental Association for Great Lakes Education (EAGLE) and the Great Lakes Aquatic Habitat Network and Fund (GLAHNF).

The GLAHNF says its mission is to empower citizens to take action at the community level to protect and restore wetlands, shorelines, rivers, lakes, and other aquatic habitats throughout the Great Lakes Basin.

You can check out this great new educational resource at:  http://www.greatlakesdirectory.org/.  And if you want you organization to be added to the online directory or Great Lakes group, go to: http://www.greatlakesdirectory.org/directory.htm.
