Northern Thunder helps air monthly news program on local public access TV station

Northern Thunder is helping the Community Action Coalition produce and air TV Notion, a monthly 1 hour news program.  TV Notion is volunteer produced and goes behind the scenes to discuss those stories that are ignored or under-reported by the mainstream local media.

New programs air the second Friday of every month at 8 pm and are replayed at various other times during the month on PAC 11, the Eau Claire cable system's public access channel.  TV Notion first appeared on the airwaves in January of 1997.  Reports on mining and its impacts, global climate change, and urban sprawl are some of the features appearing on the program along with numerous social issues in the region.  A community calendar of events, book reviews, and some in-studio music are also regular parts of the show.

Because TV Notion is the work of volunteers, its producers are very interested in attracting new and enthusiastic help.  Specifically needed are individuals with story ideas who want to help produce them, more program editors, and people who want to operate video cameras.  Skill level is not important, the Public Access Center offers classes on camera operation and program editing.
