Brule River State Forest Master Plan Hearings In September

Two public hearings will be held on the final draft of the Brule River State Forest Master Plan and Environmental Impact Statement. The Brule River State Forest Master Plan includes objectives for managing recreation, native plant communities, scenery, wildlife habitat and the production of forest products.

The draft Environmental Impact Statement considers the positive and negative effect proposed management actions would have on the environment. It also considers the effects of actions that were not chosen but were considered at earlier stages in the planning process.

The public hearings will begin with an open house format to answer questions regarding the plan. A public hearing format follows where individuals may officially comment on the document. Both meetings will be held from 6 to 9 p.m.

  • Sept. 10 - Brule Town Hall, 5820 S. Maple Street, Brule.
  • Sept. 12 - Fitchburg Community Center, 5510 Lacy Road, Fitchburg
