SOUL Announces 2nd Annual Citizen's Energy Forum Nov. 1 affair in Eau Claire will examine common sense approach to state energy needs. |
| 10/23/03 |
Due to the enormously positive response to last year’s event, SOUL (Save Our Unique Lands) and the Wisconsin Stewardship Network (WSN) are proud to present the second annual Citizen's Energy Forum - to be held Saturday, November 1, 2003 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. The Citizen's Energy Forum is the only one of its kind - designed for, and by, the citizen's of Wisconsin to ensure a sound, safe and common-sense approach to the future of Wisconsin's energy needs.
Everyone
is welcome to this informative, informal and thought-provoking session.
Topics covered will include deregulation, impacts, conservation, environmental
protection, distributed generation, transmission planning, renewable energy and
more.
We are pleased to have Michael Noble, Minnesotans for an Energy Efficient Economy, as the keynote speaker. Mike Mangun will speak on Community Wind, and a diverse energy panel with representatives from all sides of the energy equation will be available to answer questions from the audience.
The forum begins at 10:00am with several presentations followed by a buffet lunch. The afternoon will be spent in informal break-out sessions so that all can participate and share views and concerns. We anticipate the event will finish by 3pm. The fee is just $20 (which includes lunch). Booth space is available on a first come, first serve basis if you wish to share material and information - the booth rental fee is $50.
"We were very pleased with the comments and press we received about last year's event in Wausau. It is apparent that Wisconsin's citizens care deeply about their state and want an energy strategy that provides reliability while safeguarding our citizens and resources. Energy is too important to leave solely to utility CEOs and decision-makers. We purposely try to present all the issues so that every citizen can understand the entire picture - and make informed decisions about what's right for Wisconsin," said Tom Kreager, President of SOUL.
