Local Groups friends, here is an opportunity to for your organization.
Please feel free to share with others who may be interested.
Hello all,
I have great news...the 3rd Annual WI Groundwater Festival is a go!!
The festival will be a one-day event on Friday, April 15, 2005 from
9am-3:30pm at the Eau Claire County Expo Center.
Jean Schomisch, Land Conservationist with Eau Claire County,
has agreed to be the local coordinator and Rory Olson, Chippewa Falls Water Utility,
has agreed to be Jean's "3rd & 4th hands".  I would like to extend a BIG THANK YOU to
Jean and Rory for stepping forward and allowing this marvelous event to
move forward!
Now these two cannot plan this event alone.  They need the help of a
planning committee and other volunteers.  Now is the time for YOU to let
me and/or Jean know if you would like to be on the planning committee or
help the day of, if you haven't already done so. (See list below.)
Duties for the Planning Committee include participating in regularly
scheduled meetings-in person, teleconference, and/or email (once every
month or two), helping to make decisions, carrying out assigned tasks
(you express an area or areas of interest and work on tasks in that
area), and helping to fundraise.
Jean will be scheduling our first planning team meeting soon.  This will
be an in-person meeting, so we can meet everyone and get off to a good
start.  A lot is usually accomplished at the first meeting, so it's one
of the most important ones.  Possible topics for the meeting include:
I am so excited about this festival and I hope you join us in making
this festival the best one yet!!  Please let me know how YOU would like
to be involved-planning committee, volunteer with tasks before event,
volunteer day of event!
