FACTORY FARM FORUM AND DISCUSSION

Aug. 11 Eau Claire Event Explores
New Face of Wisconsin Agriculture

Three speakers will be part of a public forum and discussion on factory farming in Eau Claire on Wed., Aug. 11.  Ted Miner, of River Falls, will discuss the rise of factory dairy farms in Wisconsin; Mark Warner, of Wheeler, will talk about chicken egg laying factory farms (such as Primera); and Alan Robinson, of Chetek, will offer a perspective on smaller scale alternatives, such as his free range chicken egg laying operation.

The event starts at 7 pm in the basement of the Eau Claire public library, located on the corner of Farwell and Eau Claire Streets in the heart of downtown Eau Claire.  Refreshments will be available following the discussion.  The forum is sponsored by Northern Thunder, an Eau Claire based environmental group.  Anyone seeking more information can call Will Fantle at 839-7731.
