DEADLY POWER:

The Hidden Social and Environmental Impacts of the Proposed Duluth-to-Wausau Transmission Line

11/13/00

Wisconsin’s Environmental Decade, in conjunction with campuses, student organizations, native groups and local environmental organizations, will host a series of public presentations across the state of Wisconsin.

The events will feature a firsthand report on the plight of the Pimicikamac Cree Nation, whose lands and way of life have been devastated by a hydroelectric dam in Manitoba.  The power generated from this plant is one of two possible sources for the electricity that the controversial Arrowhead-Weston transmission line would bring through Wisconsin.

All those interested in the fate of the proposed Arrowhead-Weston transmission line are welcome to attend.
