SOUL Holding Annual Meeting

Nov. 9 gathering near Hayward

- more on the transmission line

"The Bigger They Are, The Harder They Fall" is the theme of SOUL's annual meeting this year.  The November 9 event will be held at Famous Dave's Restaurant near Hayward.  The meeting will begin at noon on Saturday and includes lunch and several speakers.  Board members from Save Our Unique Lands will update the organization on the progress made during the past year towards blocking the 250 mile long, Duluth-to-Wausau, 345,000 volt transmission line.

Barry Hanson, an energy consultant and member of Vietnam Veterans for Peace, will talk about hydrogen as a power source4 for our economy.  George Crocker, of the North American Water Office in Minnesota, will also discuss energy policy.

Organizers of the meeting call the event a fabulous opportunity to connect with people, friends, and neighbors opposing the transmission line.  And they promise to provide essential information that will help your property, home and livelihood from the multitude of problems created by the giant transmission line proposal.

Famous Dave's is located 8 miles east of Hayward on Big Round Lake and just north of County Hwy B.  (There will be lots of signs marking the route.)  It's a 1/2 mile east of Round Lake Marina and 2 miles east of the LCO casino.  If you still can't find it, the phone number is 715-462-3352.
