Gov. Doyle To Make Award Presentation

To Tribes At WSN Annual Meeting

The Wisconsin Stewardship Network will honor the Forest County Potawatomi and the Mole Lake Chippewa for their purchase of the Crandon mine site at the WSN annual conference.  The presentation of the award will take place on the opening night of the conference, Friday, Feb. 6.

Gov. Jim DoyleGovernor Jim Doyle has accepted an invitation from the WSN and will make the presentation to tribal representatives.

Artist Jeff Savage is creating statues honoring the tribes for the land purchase and their work protecting the Wolf River watershed.

You can help with this effort.  The Wisconsin Stewardship Network is seeking contributions from conservation and environmental groups, business owners, or any interested individuals.  Contributions will be acknowledged on the statue bases and on a tile in the new Mole Lake tribal administration building.
